(Formerly The Milspouse Mastermind Show). The go to podcast for military spouses who want to live with more meaning and less overwhelm!
Have you ever felt stuck, lonely, overwhelmed, frustrated or unfulfilled as a military spouse?
Are you tired of putting your own dreams, goals and plans on hold; waiting for some future season to build a life you love?
Do you sometimes feel like you’ve lost sight of who you are and what you have to offer?
More Than a Milspouse is here to empower you to GET UNSTUCK, CRAFT A LIFE WITH PURPOSE, and show you that YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR TOMORROW TO CHASE YOUR DREAMS.
In this podcast, we dig into all things military spouse life, from the mind and growth work that has to happen in order for you to completely get unstuck and feel fulfilled every single day – YES, IT’S POSSIBLE – to practically navigating the unpredictability of military life.
Through honest conversations and expert interviews, we’ll help you set goals, combat stress and anxiety, incorporate self-care as a military spouse, boost your mental and emotional health, and prioritize what matters most, so that you can pursue your life, career and business dreams (with more joy and less overwhelm as a military family).
👋 Hi, I’m Christine, a seasoned military spouse, marketing strategist, mom of three, and coffee connoisseur. I am all-too-familiar with the challenges that come with frequent moves, deployments, TDYs and trying to balance military life with your own dreams and passions.
After four moves and three babies in four years, I became an accidental stay at home mom. I began a journey to find myself again and figure out how to love the life I was actually living, rather than the one I had imagined for myself.
If there’s one thing I want you to know, it’s this: You were made for more! More than the managing of schedules, keeping up with kiddos and holding down the home front.
YOU have something uniquely valuable to offer, and when you pursue the things that light your heart on fire, you trade frustration for FULFILLMENT and isolation for IDENTITY, CONNECTION, and a life of IMPACT.
I’m here to help you thrive as a military spouse, get clarity on what fuels and fills you, and give you practical tools and strategies to craft a life of MEANING and PURPOSE today.
Whether you are an Army spouse, an Air Force spouse, a Marine spouse, a Navy spouse, Coast Guard spouse, or a Space Force spouse, this is the podcast for you!
Friend, it’s time to reclaim your life and dreams and discover who you are meant to be because together we can change the world!

If you’ve been through a PCS before, you probably already know this: Things don’t always go according to plan.
Assignments change. Timelines shift. And sometimes, the version of the move you were preparing for… isn’t the one that actually happens.
In this episode of the PCS Survival Series, we’re talking about PCS plot twists (and why your mindset matters more than you think).
Because while you can find a checklist anywhere…what’s harder to navigate is what happens when those plans fall apart.
In this episode, we talk about:
- The emotional impact of unexpected shifts
- Why focusing only on logistics makes the process harder
- The role your mindset plays in shaping your experience
- And how to move forward when things don’t go the way you hoped
Better Together,
Christine

PCSing isn’t just about moving boxes or checking off a to-do list.
It’s about navigating uncertainty, waiting on timelines, and learning how to move forward when you don’t have all the answers yet.
In this first episode of the PCS Survival Series, we’re starting at the very beginning: The Waiting Game.
That space between knowing a move is coming… and actually having orders in hand.
It’s the part where:
• You can’t fully plan
• You don’t have clear timelines
• And everything feels a little up in the air
For many military spouses, it’s one of the most mentally and emotionally exhausting parts of the entire process.
In this episode, we talk about:
• Why uncertainty feels so difficult during a PCS
• The mindset shift from control → acceptance
• How to make plans (without holding too tightly to them)
• Letting go of perfection, especially when it comes to your home and belongings
• Why your nervous system needs support during transition seasons
• And how to stay grounded when nothing feels certain
If you’re in the middle of a PCS (or know one is coming), this episode is for you.
Better Together,
Christine

Coming This Summer: The PCS Survival Series
Because PCS Season is more than just the logistics of moving.
Its identity shifts. Decision fatigue. Letting go. Starting over. And trying to protect your mental health and sanity in the middle of it all.
This summer, we’re breaking down the full PCS experience — from emotional preparation and resilience to routines, relationships, reinvention, and recovery after the move.
Whether you’re preparing for orders, in the middle of packing chaos, or trying to settle somewhere new, this series is here to remind you that you don’t have to navigate military life transitions alone.

How do you hold on… while also learning to let go?
In this episode, I sit down with author and military spouse Lindsay Swoboda to talk about the ongoing reality of navigating change throughout military life.
From early marriage and career pivots to overseas moves, motherhood, and eventually military retirement, Lindsay shares what it’s been like to continually reinvent herself while holding on to the parts of herself that matter most.
In this conversation, we talk about:
- The cycle of reinvention as a military spouse
- Letting go of expectations while still holding onto purpose
- The emotional tension of grief and gratitude that exists at the same time
- What surrender really looks like in seasons you didn’t choose
- Why comparison makes transition seasons even harder
- How to move at your own pace—even when life feels uncertain
Lindsay also shares the story behind her book, Holding On and Letting Go: A Life in Motion, and how writing became a way to process the often contradictory experience of military life.
Military life doesn’t just ask you to let go once. It asks you to do it again and again, while still holding onto who you are becoming.
Better Together,
Christine

271. Mandatory Fun? Why Military Spouses Actually Need More Play (Yes, Really)
Thursday May 14, 2026
Thursday May 14, 2026
When was the last time you had fun—real, just-for-the-sake-of-it fun?
Not multitasking.
Not being productive.
Not checking something off your list.
Just fun.
In military life, it’s easy to prioritize responsibilities, schedules, and everything that needs to get done. And somewhere along the way, play becomes something we push to the bottom of the list.
But what if fun isn’t optional?
In this episode, we’re talking about why play and creativity are essential—not just for enjoyment, but for your mental health, energy, and ability to show up in your life.
Better Together,
Christine

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve lost yourself in military life, you’re not alone.
In this episode, I sit down with Shari Biery, a national board-certified health and wellness coach, author of It’s Your Turn, and longtime military spouse, to talk about something so many of us experience but rarely say out loud:
👉 What happens when you’ve spent years putting yourself last?
After two decades of military life, multiple PCS moves, career disruptions, and raising a family, Shari reached a breaking point—burnout, exhaustion, and the realization that she had been waiting for permission to take care of herself.
In this conversation, we talk about:
- Navigating military spouse identity loss
- The hidden toll of constant moving and career disruption
- Why so many military spouses feel guilt around self-care
- How burnout shows up physically, emotionally, and mentally
- The mindset shift from “I should” → “I get to”
- What it actually looks like to start choosing yourself again
Better Together,
Christine

Making friends as a military spouse can feel exhausting, especially when you know another move is always coming. In this episode of More Than a Milspouse, I sit down with Cecilia Curtis, host of the Heart of Friendship podcast, to talk honestly about why military spouse friendships are so hard and what actually helps real connection form.
We explore how constant relocation, busyness, fear of vulnerability, and surface-level conversations can keep us feeling lonely—even when we’re surrounded by people. Cecilia shares what she’s learned from years of military life about building meaningful friendships, going deeper faster, and why even short-term relationships can have a lasting impact.
This conversation is for military spouses who feel lonely, disconnected, or unsure if it’s worth putting themselves out there again. You’ll walk away with practical mindset shifts, simple strategies for deeper conversations, and encouragement to stop waiting for “the perfect season” to build community.
Topics covered in this episode include:
- Why military spouse friendships feel different
- How to make friends when you move often
- Moving from surface-level conversations to deeper connections
- The role of vulnerability and honesty in friendship
- Why receiving help can strengthen relationships
- Finding joy and gratitude through meaningful connection

What if loving your life didn’t require you to shrink, perform, or disappear?
In this episode, we’re talking about the tension that many military spouses feel, but don’t always have language for: feeling like you have to choose between trying to do it all (and burning yourself out) or losing parts of yourself in military life.
What if there was another way? What if there was a way to embrace your life as a military spouse, without losing yourself in the process?
We’re exploring what it looks like to hold both.
Better Together,
Christine
