(Formerly The Milspouse Mastermind Show). The go to podcast for military spouses who want to live with more meaning and less overwhelm! Have you ever felt stuck, lonely, overwhelmed, frustrated or unfulfilled as a military spouse? Are you tired of putting your own dreams, goals and plans on hold; waiting for some future season to build a life you love? Do you sometimes feel like you’ve lost sight of who you are and what you have to offer? More Than a Milspouse is here to empower you to GET UNSTUCK, CRAFT A LIFE WITH PURPOSE, and show you that YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR TOMORROW TO CHASE YOUR DREAMS. In this podcast, we dig into all things military spouse life, from the mind and growth work that has to happen in order for you to completely get unstuck and feel fulfilled every single day – YES, IT’S POSSIBLE – to practically navigating the unpredictability of military life. Through honest conversations and expert interviews, we’ll help you set goals, combat stress and anxiety, incorporate self-care as a military spouse, boost your mental and emotional health, and prioritize what matters most, so that you can pursue your life, career and business dreams (with more joy and less overwhelm as a military family). 👋 Hi, I’m Christine, a seasoned military spouse, marketing strategist, mom of three, and coffee connoisseur. I am all-too-familiar with the challenges that come with frequent moves, deployments, TDYs and trying to balance military life with your own dreams and passions. After four moves and three babies in four years, I became an accidental stay at home mom. I began a journey to find myself again and figure out how to love the life I was actually living, rather than the one I had imagined for myself. If there’s one thing I want you to know, it’s this: You were made for more! More than the managing of schedules, keeping up with kiddos and holding down the home front. YOU have something uniquely valuable to offer, and when you pursue the things that light your heart on fire, you trade frustration for FULFILLMENT and isolation for IDENTITY, CONNECTION, and a life of IMPACT. I’m here to help you thrive as a military spouse, get clarity on what fuels and fills you, and give you practical tools and strategies to craft a life of MEANING and PURPOSE today. Whether you are an Army spouse, an Air Force spouse, a Marine spouse, a Navy spouse, Coast Guard spouse, or a Space Force spouse, this is the podcast for you! Friend, it’s time to reclaim your life and dreams and discover who you are meant to be because together we can change the world! LET’S DO IT! Deployments. Frequent moves. Working from home. Lack of childcare. Trying to get established in a new city. There are numerous reasons military spouses struggle with loneliness.
Join me for a conversation with licensed clinical social worker and military spouse Crystal Bettenhausen-Bubulka, LCSW, MSG about loneliness, connection, and why it’s time to rethink our connections as military spouses. Learn why social health is just as important as our mental and physical health, and what actions we can take to decrease loneliness and increase connection.

228. Let's Chat About Gratitude and the Brain
Tuesday Nov 26, 2024
Tuesday Nov 26, 2024
Gratitude. We’re told it’s a good thing to do. We even have a holiday in the United States built around it. But, if we're being honest, sometimes gratitude feels a little bit cliché.
Sometimes life is tough. The medical diagnosis. The marriage difficulties. The financial strain and insecurity. The explosive family dynamics. Politics. All of it. Sometimes, the last thing you feel like doing is “being grateful.”
So today we’re unpacking the concept of gratitude. What exactly is it? Is it really that important? And can the practice of gratitude actually impact the brain and body? Let’s talk about!

227. Hacking Habit Change as a Milspouse
Thursday Nov 21, 2024
Thursday Nov 21, 2024
Most of us know what it’s like to want to change something about our lives, and yet we fail to do it. Or we start…but then fall off the wagon.
We go to the gym…for a few weeks. We eat better…until we go on vacation. We vow to drink more water. We vow to stop wasting so much time on social media. And then we think…I’ll do it tomorrow, next week, next month. We rely on willpower and motivation to make change happen. Which works for a little while…until it doesn’t.
So are we doomed to repeat the same things we’ve always done? Is it too late for us to become a healthier or better version of ourselves? Absolutely not.
Today we’re talking about hacking habit change as a military spouse. Why does it feel so hard? And how can we make it easier? Let’s talk about it!

226. Lacking Confidence? How to Change Your Self-Image as a Military Spouse
Tuesday Nov 12, 2024
Tuesday Nov 12, 2024
It’s much easier to feel confident when you have a record of success. When you KNOW that you can get results, and others surround you with affirmation, you walk more confidently, you talk confidently, and it’s easy to believe in yourself.
But what about when you don’t have a proven record of success? What about when you’ve applied for job after job, but no one is calling you for an interview? What about when no one giving you positive feedback? Or the only feedback you’re getting is disapproval from your two-year-old?
What can you do when you’re having trouble believing in yourself, and what you’re capable of? How do you step out of a cycle of self-doubt, and actually begin to believe in yourself? Let’s talk about it!

You know it’s possible to pursue your dreams as a military spouse. But what does that look like practically? What does that look like as a mom of littles? Or as a CEO? That’s what this week’s guest is here to chat with us about.
Meet Emilie Schario, a military spouse, mom of two, and the CEO and co-founder of Turbine, a financial software company solving inventory problems for businesses. Emilie knows firsthand the complexities of navigating military life while pursuing entrepreneurial aspirations. We chat about what this looks like in her life, and what she’s found that helps her show up as a mom and at work.

No one wants to think about war and global conflict and what that means for military spouses and their families. And yet, it’s a part of “what we signed up for.”
This week, I’m sharing about an amazing opportunity I had before we left Hawaii, and what I learned that will help us all better prepare for and navigate this military lifestyle.

There are many different ways to serve. For some of us, it's signing up for active duty. For others of us, it's being married to someone who is serving. And for others, like today's guest, it's serving those who serve and their families.
All of it is service. Today's conversation is about entrepreneurship, it's about finding your path to purpose, it's about navigating change, and it's about how we step into our full purpose and potential without burning ourselves out in the process.
I can’t wait to share this conversation with you!

Wednesday Sep 18, 2024
Wednesday Sep 18, 2024
"Dear Christine, I don't feel like I'm in control of how I'm responding to my situation."
I often say that we can't control our circumstances, but we can control how we respond to what happens. But sometimes when something triggers us, we feel unable to choose how we respond.
So what can we do when we feel powerless to control what we're thinking and feeling, or how we're responding? Let's talk about it!
Better Together,
Christine
